Frank Rosengarten (1927-2014) Ph.D. in Italian, Columbia University, was professor emeritus at Case Western Reserve University and the City University of New York. He edited several volumes of Gramsci's prison letters. Among his other publications are The Writings of the Young Marcel Proust (2001), Urbane Revolutionary: C.L.R. James and the Struggle for a New Society(2008), and Giacomo Leopardi's Search for a Common Life through Poetry (2012).
